What is 1P-LSD?

1-Propionyl-d-lysergic acid diethylamide (1P-LSD), a member of the lysergamide class, has gained fame as a new psychedelic agent structurally related to LSD. It is believed to interact with serotonin receptors in the brain, and although the exact date of synthesis is unknown, it entered the online research chemistry market in 2015. Despite its lack of history in research literature, it was marketed as a legal alternative to LSD. It has been proposed as a prodrug for LSD, supported by a study showing that it is metabolized to LSD in rats.
