What is 2MMC?

2-Methylmethcathinone (2-MMC), also known as ortomephedrone, is a research chemical with stimulating and euphoric effects. It is a substituted cathinone derivative, closely related to better known substances such as 3-methylmethcathinone and 4-methylmethcathinone (mephedrone). Chemically, 2-MMC has the molecular formula C11H15NO and a molar mass of 177.247 g mol−1. The substance works by affecting neurotransmitters in the brain, leading to increased alertness, energy and a feeling of euphoria. The scientific interest in 2-MMC lies primarily in the way it stimulates the central nervous system, making it similar to other amphetamine-like compounds.

2MMC, or 2-methylmethcathinone, is a synthetic stimulant that is chemically similar to cathinones such as mephedrone.
